How it works

How Kodo works

Three steps. About ten minutes of your time, total. We do the asking, you read the answers, and we tell you exactly what to fix. No code, no marketing jargon, no homework.

1. The free check

You type two things: your business name and the city you're in. We don't ask for your card, an email, or a phone number. We don't ask you to install anything. The check runs in about half a minute and the result loads on the next page.

Under the hood we ask the five major AI assistants (ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Gemini, and the Apple/Siri stack) the kinds of questions a real customer asks. If you run a barber shop in Pilsen, we'll try variations on "best barber in Pilsen," "haircut near Pilsen," and "barber that does fades in Chicago." If you run a taqueria, the questions shift to "best tacos near," "tacos al pastor in," and so on. We watch what the AI assistants say. We watch whether your name comes up. We watch which businesses they recommend instead.

2. Your report

The report fits on a single screen. At the top is your grade, A through F, which is just the share of the AI questions that mentioned you favorably. Below the grade we show three specific things that are hurting you, in plain language: your Google Business Profile is missing photos, your hours are wrong on Yelp, your business isn't on Apple Maps so Siri doesn't know you exist. That kind of thing. No "share of voice" anywhere.

Below the findings, we show you one local competitor for comparison. We pick a real shop that comes up in the same kinds of searches. You see, at a glance, where they're showing up and you're not. That's the hard part of running a small business. You don't know what you don't know. The side-by-side fixes that.

The last block is three things you can do today. One of them is always free. One is one-click on a paid plan (we do it for you, you just confirm). One we save for the paid plans because it requires monthly work.

3. What changes when you pay

Free is a one-time snapshot. Paid is the ongoing version. On the Watch plan at $19 a month, we re-run the check once a month and email you the new report. If your grade slips, we tell you why. If it climbs, we tell you what worked. You also get alerts when something material changes between monthly checks (a new 1-star review, a Google profile suspension, an AI assistant changing what it says about you).

The Grow plan at $39 adds the bigger stuff. We monitor your reviews on Google, Yelp, and Facebook, and draft replies you can edit and send in one tap. We check your info across the top 20 directories and sync it everywhere in one click. We track up to three competitors instead of one. Most owners pick this plan because it covers what 80% of small businesses need.

The Win plan at $79 is set-it-and- forget-it. We auto-post updates to your Google Business Profile and Facebook page. We send review requests by SMS and email to customers after their visit. You get a branded PDF report every month you can hand to a business partner. There's a 24-hour human-support guarantee.

What we monitor

The five things that drive AI visibility for a local business in 2026:

  • Your Google Business Profile. Completeness, photos, hours, posts, reviews, and how often you update it. ChatGPT reads this through Bing. Gemini reads it directly. It still matters most.
  • Yelp. AI assistants cite Yelp more than any other single source for local recommendations. Most owners haven't touched their Yelp page in years.
  • Apple Maps. Siri's substrate. If you're not on Apple Maps, you don't exist for 1.4 billion iPhone users when they ask Siri.
  • Facebook business page. Meta AI and several other assistants pull from here. Your hours and contact info need to match what's on Google.
  • Reddit threads about your area. Recommendations in "best X in [city]" Reddit threads show up in AI answers more often than most owners realize.

Common questions

How long does the free check take?

About 30 seconds. Type your business name and the city you're in. We run the same kinds of questions a neighbor would ask, get the answers back, and show you the result. No waiting room. No email gate.

What does Kodo actually check?

Five things. ChatGPT, Google's AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, and the Apple/Siri stack. For each one, we ask a handful of questions a real customer would ask, like "best barber in [your area]" or "good tacos near me," and see if your business comes up.

How do you decide what to ask the AI assistants?

We pick a few common search patterns for your type of business, plus the city you're in. On paid plans, you can add your own searches: things like "kid-friendly hair salon" or "24 hour pharmacy near downtown." Most owners think of three or four right away.

Will fixing things actually move the needle?

Most of the time, yes. The basics (claiming your Google Business Profile, adding photos, syncing to Apple Maps and Yelp, replying to old reviews) carry a lot of the weight. If you fix what we flag, you should see your grade move within a month, sometimes a week.

What happens after I pay?

Kodo re-runs your checks once a month and emails you a short report. If your grade slips, we tell you why. If it climbs, we tell you what worked. On Grow and Win plans we also draft replies to new reviews, sync your info to other directories, and (on Win) automate posts and review requests.

See what AI says about you. Right now.
